Maxine was hired to investigate the disappearance of a priceless diamond necklace from a museum in 18th century France. She set her time machine to take her back to the era of Marie Antoinette, ready to crack the case.
As she materialized in a grand ballroom, she realized something was off. She had accidentally brought her cat, Whiskers, with her. She groaned at the thought of the chaos that could ensue.
Maxine's cat quickly scampered off as she began her investigation. She interviewed witnesses and collected clues, but every time she tried to piece together the mystery, Whiskers would pop up and cause havoc.
In one instance, as she was questioning a potential suspect, Whiskers darted across the room, knocking over a priceless vase. Maxine tried to catch it, but in the process, accidentally broke the vase into several pieces. She quickly tried to cover up the mess, but it was too late, and the suspect became suspicious of her.
As the investigation progressed, Maxine found herself jumping back and forth through time, chasing after Whiskers and piecing together clues. She even found herself in ancient Egypt, trying to solve the case of a missing pharaoh's tomb, all while keeping an eye on her mischievous feline friend.
Eventually, after much ado, Maxine cracked the case and retrieved the missing diamond necklace. She breathed a sigh of relief as she headed back to her own time, eager to close the case and be done with the chaos.
But as she returned to modern-day New York, she realized something was wrong. She had accidentally brought back an ancient Egyptian artifact with her, and Whiskers had once again sneaked along for the ride.
Maxine groaned, knowing she was in for another wild ride as she tried to return the artifact to its rightful place and keep Whiskers out of trouble. The life of a time-traveling detective was never boring, that was for sure.
