In a small town, there lived a woman named Jane. She was known throughout the town for her unique habit of yawning, even when she wasn't the least bit sleepy.
People would see her walking down the street, her eyes wide open and her mouth gaping as she let out a loud yawn.
At first, people thought it was just a quirk, a strange habit that Jane had picked up somewhere along the way. But as the days and weeks went by, her constant yawning became a bit of a mystery.
No matter where she was or what she was doing, Jane seemed to be in a perpetual state of exhaustion. She would yawn during meetings at work, while out shopping, and even while watching a movie.
And so, people in the town became curious. They wanted to know what was causing Jane's constant yawning, and whether there was anything they could do to help.
One day, a group of Jane's friends decided to investigate the mystery. They followed her around town, trying to catch her in the act of yawning.
And sure enough, they saw her yawn again and again, her mouth opening wide as she took in deep breaths of air.
But then they noticed something strange. Whenever Jane yawned, she would glance over at a nearby clock or watch.
At first, they thought it was a coincidence. But then they realized that Jane was only yawning at specific times, as if she was trying to synchronize her yawns with the ticking of the clock.
And that's when they made a surprising discovery. Jane wasn't actually tired at all. She was simply bored.
She had figured out that if she yawned during meetings or conversations, people would think she was tired and would let her go home early. And if she yawned during a movie or while shopping, people would assume that she was just tired and not interested.
It was a clever ploy, and one that had worked for years. But now that her secret was out, Jane's friends couldn't help but laugh at her antics.
And so Jane became known as the woman who could make herself yawn on command, a bit of a legend in the town.
And even though her friends teased her about her strange habit, Jane couldn't help but smile. She knew that sometimes, the best mysteries were the ones that made people laugh and brought a bit of joy into their lives.
