Flower Power: A Bachelor's Graduation Day Story

 

Once upon a time, there was a young man named Johnny. He was a senior in college and was set to graduate in a few weeks. Johnny had been dreaming about his graduation day for years, and he had big plans for how he wanted to look on this special day.

He wanted to wear the most stylish suit, have the freshest haircut, and, most importantly, wear a beautiful lei made of flowers. Johnny knew that getting a lei was an important tradition for graduation, and he was determined to get the most beautiful one.

Johnny's graduation day finally arrived, and he was looking sharp in his brand new suit. He had a fresh haircut, and he was ready to receive his diploma. But he was missing one thing: his flowery lei.

So, he decided to take a detour before the ceremony to find the perfect lei. He went to every florist in town, but he just couldn't find one that was special enough. Johnny was getting desperate, and his anxiety started to show.

As he walked down the street, he saw a little old lady sitting on the sidewalk selling flowers. Johnny thought this was his chance to get the perfect lei, so he walked over to her.

"Excuse me, ma'am. Do you have any flower leis for sale?" Johnny asked.

The old lady smiled at him and replied, "Yes, I do! I have the most beautiful flower leis in all of the town."

Johnny's eyes lit up with excitement. He couldn't believe his luck. He asked the lady to show him her flower leis, and he was impressed. The flowers were fresh, colorful, and fragrant. He finally found the perfect lei!

He asked the old lady, "How much for this beautiful lei?"

The old lady responded, "It will cost you one hundred dollars."

Johnny was taken aback. "One hundred dollars for a flower lei?" he exclaimed.

The old lady nodded and said, "Yes, it is made of the rarest and most beautiful flowers. It is worth every penny."

Johnny thought about it for a moment. He really wanted that lei, but he didn't have enough money. He decided to negotiate with the old lady.

"Ma'am, I don't have one hundred dollars, but I can give you fifty dollars for it. What do you say?" Johnny asked.

The old lady thought for a moment and then replied, "I'll tell you what. You seem like a nice young man. I'll give you the lei for fifty dollars on one condition: you must promise to dance with me when you wear it."

Johnny was caught off guard. "Dance with you?" he asked.

The old lady smiled and said, "Yes, you promised to dance with me when you wear it. It's a tradition in our culture."

Johnny hesitated for a moment, but he really wanted that lei. He agreed to the old lady's condition and bought the lei.

As Johnny walked away, he couldn't believe what had just happened. He was going to have to dance with an old lady on his graduation day. He laughed to himself and thought, "Well, at least I have the perfect lei."

Johnny went to the graduation ceremony with the lei around his neck. Everyone was staring at him, and he could feel their envy. He felt like a king.

After the ceremony, the old lady came up to Johnny and reminded him of his promise. Johnny didn't want to break his promise, so he put on a brave face and started dancing with her. The old lady had some moves, and Johnny couldn't help but laugh.

In the end, Johnny realized that sometimes the most unexpected things can turn out to be the most fun.
